Frank Labombarda launched Houdini's - an Italian restaurant and cafe - in March 2016. Houdini's has since become a destination restaurant for fine Italian cuisine, and attracts visitors to Diggers Rest from Sunbury, Gisborne, Woodend and further afield. This week marks the 110th anniversary of famed magician and escapologist Harry Houdini visiting Diggers Rest, and he was reportedly the first person in Australia to achieve a successful powered flight in his voisin biplane. In July 2019, Frank took over the management of the Diggers Rest Post Office, which is located close to his restaurant, opposite the Diggers Rest Train Station. www.houdinis.com.au
